Default Avant Rear Window washer problem

Hi everyone,
I've just purchased a 2001 S4 Avant and I'm in the process of chasing out all the gremlins. One gremlin that has me scratching my head is when I attempt to use the rear window washer. When I activate the washer, cleaning fluid drips down from under the dash and gets my feet wet. I've looked under the dash and can't see directly where the washer fluid is coming from. Does anyone know how the hoses for the rear window washer are routed? Are there any routing diagrams?
The easy solution is to just not use the rear window washer. That's what my local Audi dealer told me. But that's not a fix that works for me.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,
Stephen

Default It seems it would either have to run up the pillars, or down through the floorboard, then up the

side in the back somewhere. Once you find the leak, make sure you check the nozzle on the outside of the car to see if it's clogged. You might be able to follow the hoses from the washer tank. I've always wondered how this was routed as well. Good luck!

Default I think it goes into the cabin near the hood release cable...

then down the behind the drivers lower a-pillar kick panel and under the carpet to the rear of the car.

I just had to fix a leak on my wifes allroad, was leaking behind the kick panel, there was a connection there that was leaking.

Default I had the same issue for no reason while back. There is a tube connector right behind

left foot well cover, the one next to hood release hook. Easy fix. Need philips screwdriver and flashlight. Why tube disconnected, don't know, but never been a problem since.

Default I just had this problem! I haven't posted the pics yet but will....

My washer didn't work when I bought the car so I had CPO look at it and some other things. When I got the car back, it worked but the stream was weak. Then it stopped working again.

Everytime I tried to spray, I could hear a spray sound under the dash. Not good.

The line is routed around the wheel well, then into the cabin behind the driver kick panel. Then it goes under the floor to the back.

I removed the kickpanel and was horrified at all the water on the floor and on some of the connectors. Behind the kickpanel, there is a block with about 20 connectors.

The hose has a junction that happens to be right behind all these wires. Poor design. It is REALLY hard to get to snap back together with all the wires in the way. If you pull on the top of the connector block housing, it will unsnap and pull away from the wall. This will give you more room for your hands to get behind the wires. I actually disconnected all the connectors too and this helped. Then I could get both my hands back there to snap the water hose back together. Now the rear stream is strong like it should be.

Also, there is a yellow, two wire connector that is for the seat airbag. You will get an airbag code, if you disconnect it, but if you have VAG-COM it won't be a problem.

I also removed my front seat and lifted the carpet up to dry it out. Major hassle and my dealer is a major tool for not fixing it correctly the first time.

I will post pictures this weekend.

I am convinced this problem caused some of my electrical gremlins.

Default Thanks for the help!

Thanks everyone for the help diagnosing this problem. It sounds like something I should be able to tackle myself. The pics will help a lot.

Many thanks,
Stephen
