Default for the day crowd: Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire

So my 2+ just started running like a pig - no recent changes made whatsoever. Bucking at wot under boost, sputtering - power waay down. Runs fine at idle and off-boost. I've checked for boost leaks, cleaned/unplugged MAF, reset ECU, run stock mode ...the usual crap - found nothing.

VAG-COM yields codes:

16684 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected P0300 - 35-00 - -
16689 - Cylinder 5 Misfire Detected P0305 - 35 -35-00 - -

watsaaaap? bad plug or coil? injector pooched?

Default misfiring is a disease that's not easily cured.

hopefully, it's as simple as a bad plug, coil or injector but many have never completely been cured once infected.

sorry.

Default yup...didn't get my first misfires till my car met m-box's car...it really is a disease.

general fyi - the ECU "measures" which cylinder is misfiring. it takes the engine harmonics and make a logical guess as to which clinder is misfiring.

this is why you may see misfires on other adjacent cylinders.

i still haven't tracked down my misfire source...sometimes it seems cylinder 3 is the culprit while most of the time its cylinder 2. shrug.

Default LOL! iirc, there are tiny mics that register misfires so I'm not sure how much...

guess work is involved. I would think it would be an accurate count and source as long as the misfire status is 'activated'. In reference to your car, I think it is a direct relation to why you are twice as rich at part throttle in that bank.

and you had misfires way before me punk. if anything, mine got worse from ur car. 8^)
