Dumb question, how does cam locking bar 3391 attach the cam pulleys?

Dumb question, how does cam locking bar 3391 attach the cam pulleys?

<center><img src="http://www.zdmak.com/wbstore/images/vw6028.jpg"></center><p>Hi I'm getting all of my info, tools, and parts together for my timing belt replacment. I can't figure out how the cam pulley locking bar (VW #3391) actually attaches securely to the cam pulleys to lock them.

Do you remove an OEM bolt, attach the locking bar, and then screw the OEM bolt back in on each cam? I'm lost.

They don't go over it in Bentley.

I didn't use anything to attach it. it just sat there if i remember correctly. btw you don't need it

The cams have tabs that those little pins slip into.

fits like this

the pins are large enough to hold itself up on the motor. i left it in this position for 3 days with no problems while i waited for a new tensioner to arrive. its a 2.8 30v out of an A4 but S4's have the same setup
