I supposedly bought a used M box, but last letter is T. Waiting to hear from seller...
I thought the instrument cluster needed to be recoded for compatibility. Can the ecu itself be recoded to work?

If you have the same MAF and transmission, you can easily use a different letter ECU
And even if the sticker says one letter, the software may be a different letter.
I run a box with an H sticker, but M software. My instrument cluster is a 2001 RS4 and everything works fine.
I know someone running a box with an A sticker, but has M code and once we worked out the correct soft coding, everything was fine.
