oil consumption question

oil consumption question

I took my Audi S4 to the dealer for excessive oil consumption and they mentioned that it is normal to use 1 quart of oil every 1000 miles. It seems rather excessive. My car never use any oil until recently. Is this just BS?

need more info--how many miles on your car--mods?

Mine drinks oil, don't think it drinks that much though.

28,000 miles and no mods

For the first 27000 miles, I put in 1 quart of oil.

any oil residue in your intakes --- turbo imminent failure...

possible oil leak...more

I noticed the same thing. Every month or so there would be so much oil missing when I checked. It would be either just below the min line on the dipstick or just above. Then I changed the oil myself and noticed all sorts of oil all over the oil pan and on the sensor and on the molding underneath the car. The car has been leaking oil! So when I go to Andersen and Beihl I'm giving them all hell because I had the car serviced when it was leaking oil and the bastards didn't even bother to check even with the oil all over the oil pan.
