Default piston retractor for rear brakes

though i'd post my successful experience using the following piston tool that I picked up for $12 from Sears. some posts in the archive have noted that you need to dremel/shave down one of the sides, but i didn't have to.

it attaches to a 3/8 inch drive socket with extension:

in action (turn clockwise to retract the piston):

getting to the rear pads was probably one of the easier things i've ever done on the car (mainly because everything is easily accessed and no complicated procedure is involved and you don't need to get underneath the car). only took a little over an hour or so, and i'm notorious for taking 2-3x the amount of time to do anything on my car according to my girlfriend

Default I did Dremel mine, although as you mentioned it isn't really necessary....

...I mainly did it to mine as it looked like the side I Dremeled would interface a bit better than the side you used.
