Question: Why does audi, mb, bmw do high altitude test in states when the ALPS are just south?
really.. the ALPS are huge, i drove through them once and they were AMAZED!, WHY do they ship test cars here to the u.s. just to do testing?

I heard it was for contrasts, only a "short" drive away is low altitude, high heat testing.

Right, but how high are the accessable roads in general?
The highest motorable pass in the world is supposed to be the Khardung La in the Himalayas at 18379 ft
