Default the best thing I've seen to diagnose a coil pack issue is to...
...move the coilpacks around from one cylindar to another (the cylindar that is having problems), if the problems move with the coil pack, then that's a safe bet you have a bad coil pack.

Find Audiboy, he just diagnosed this problem a couple weeks ago...

Engine starts to buck and goes into safe mode, then you limp off the road and call AAA

How do you tell if the problem moved with the coilpack? Are misfire codes cylinder specific?
