Rear View mirror and side view mirror

umm crappy german engineering? seriously though I don't know what
causes it but unfortunately it is a common problem. I think for the side mirrors it is because the heating element is always on. I know my side mirror went first and I replaced with the euro blind spot mirror from PureMS. Still haven't replaced my rear view even though I have a nice oval in it and it no longer auto dims.

crappy outdated design but they aren't german..
The old technology was liquid between two plates of glass. The newer design has a layer of some sort of plastic and does not have liquid to leak out. Magna donnelly sells the same type of mirrors to the majority of car manufacturers.
Replacement mirrors (and mirrors in newer cars) will have a greenish tint vs. gold.
