side marker question?

Not an easy way. Just think about it: there's no existing circuit you can tap into to make this happen. If you want them to stay on what you can do is splice the wires from the side markers with the wires from the headlights but then you wouldn't have the blinking (also they would only work when the headlights are on). You could rewire them to take power from the same circuit as the instrument cluster, then they would stay on whenever the car is on, but again, no blinking.

And FYI - Comp is an electrical engineer - on the internet anyway, it's not like I've asked for a copy of his diploma.
I can see the look you're going for and I bet it would look pretty nice. I would skip the blinking part unless it has to blink to meet state laws or something. Get two small strips of LEDs that match your headlight K and replace the side markers with those and wire them to the headlight relay. That would look even better.
