steering angle sensor throwing codes....
I have an aftermarket alpine source in my car. After installation ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL lights reported. I have put the stock source back in and tried to clear the codes but to no prevail. My mechanic blames the steering angle sensor. Also i noticed that my directionals fritz out when the wheel is being turned. Coincidence?? Any help or ideas are greatly appreciated. TIA

Its actually in the steering wheel. Its called a clock spring. Brand new from dealer is over $1000
Got mine from Shokan for $200 used.
I would first connect a VAG and try to recalibrate it before you go and buy parts.

well my airbag in the steering is not plgged in.
that could be the problem huh. my car didnt have that clock spring. picked one up from salvage yard, just never plugged airbag in. my car is a salvaged title it had alot of stuff just not plugged in.

So was mine. My clock spring was torn...had to get a new one and then all my lights disappeared.
My airbag light was never on though. I had ESP, Traction, and Brake lights on. They all went away when I got a new clock spring and then readjusted my steering angle via VAG.
