Default Suggestions for a Stoptech rotor friendly street/track pad

I'm looking at the Stoptech site and would like a suggestion for a rotor friendly pad for street and track use.

If I expect to do around 5 track/auto-x events a year am I better off with a dedicated track pad or is a combo pad like the Ferodo DS2500 adequate?

TIA for any suggestions.

One of the best choices out there is the compound from BHP (German made). True street/track pad.

I saw the BHP and comparing them to the Carbotech Bobcat. Any thoughts on them?

Stoptech claims that the BHP pads are the best they've ever tested for dual purpose use.

Default There's no pad that will do both well. I have Porterfield R4S pads and they're supposed

to be one of those good all-around pads but fade on the track is unavoidable. Any good track pad needs heat to work but then that makes them not so good for the street. I like my Porterfields for a street pad and aggressive driving but I am getting race compound pads for my next track event. Our cars are so heavy, I can't really see any alternative. They work the brakes so hard...

Default I did give it some more thought and I guess a dedicated street and track pad set is best

So any suggestions for a track pad?

I'm thinking a Porterfield, Pagid Orange or Ferodo DS2500 that I'll just swap on when I get to the event.

Default If your doing 5 events a year I would get dedicated pads.

I run Pagid RS 4-2 Blue on the street and Pagid RS 14 Black on the track. It only takes 20 mins to swap out. I haven't tried the new RS 5 Blue but the older RS 4-4 Orange didn't last long enough.

http://www.braketechnology.com/racecharacteristics.html</a

Default Interesting...link to anything from ST that says this?

Not because I don't believe it, but I would like to read their take on it..

I was leaning towards the Ferrodo DS 2500 for the front..

Default no such thing. I run Axxis Ultimates on the street and Pagid Orange RS 4-4/Hawk HT10 on the track

with Hawk HP+ out back.

you'll find pads cheaper at raceshopper.com
