Corner view vs. top view camera

Corner view vs. top view camera
So I was all set to pop in my order for an S6, when my wife convinced me to drop the B&O option and get an S7 instead for almost the same price difference. I think it was a good move but the only thing that bugs me is that the S7 doesn't get the top view camera that the S6/S8 get. It only gets the corner view. I loved the top view feature in the S6 that I test drove but didn't get to play too much with the corner view system in the S7.
Can folks who have had experience with both let me know what you think about the corner view setup? Is not having the top view a big loss or am I overthinking this?

The top-view camera system is awesome. Too bad the S7 doesn't have it.
BTW: You may want to re-think dropping the B&O. The Bose system is really weak, many threads on this. Seems like Audi cheapened the base system quite a bit.

I am no audiophile but I Ben playing with the Bose on my S7 and find it ok. My fried has a a6 with B&O and yes it is better more power for sure but not 7k better. I spoke with a audio shop and could put a bigger sub and change a few speakers for less than 1500 and get a much better system that is same as B&O.

For those who think this is typical Bose, it certainly is NOT a typical Bose issue. The A6/S6/A7/S7 Bose system is clearly a sub-part setup. The Bose system I have in my Q7 is awesome.
BTW: The true cost of the B&) drops to $4400 when you back out the $1500 of "recommended" modifications to the Bose system.

I have an A7 w/ Bose and have been thinking about upgrading to an S7 with the B&O. I agree the Bose is pretty awful, but you need to consider what are your sources of music to justify the B&O. If you listening to AM/FM/Sat/MP3 player you won't hear much of a difference. It will have a marginal improvement, but not enough to justify the expense.
If, however, you listening to low compression rate ripped music via the jukebox/SD card or from CDs you will hear a huge improvement in the quality. Most notably the imaging of the music.

IMO, a lot of folks say you can't tell the difference with Sat Radio and HD Radio, I disagree. Once you turn the volume up to a good listening volume (ie: louder than background music, but not blasting) , the distortion on the Bose system is significantly apparent.
The B&O system offers much higher, crisper highs and deeper base tones. I can feel the B&O stereo, where I can just hear the Bose system.
IMO, the upgrade is worth it if you like to listen to music while driving. (I drive back and forth to the Atlanta Airport, an hour drive, twice a week, I love music...zoning out and driving...).
The previous generation Bose systems worked really well, this A6/A7/S6/S7 designed Bose system has been subject to cost cutting efforts... as I mentioned earlier, our 2007 Q7 Bose rocks.
I am going w/ B&O on my new S purchase.
The B&O system offers much higher, crisper highs and deeper base tones. I can feel the B&O stereo, where I can just hear the Bose system.

For my cash I plugged my tunne to cars with and without B&O back to back. I suggest you do the same make sure the Bose system is updated for try the new S model which as far as I know all have the latest firmware.

Thanks for all the input guys. While I am no means a Bose fan (quite the opposite in fact), I gave the Bose in the S7 a good listen and it seemed fine. I only drive about 3-4k miles/yr so I dont think its worth it for me.
I guess not too many people have had experience with both cameras yet. Thanks for your input ktm. I think I'll be fine. A power trunk/hatch may be more useful than the top view cam (at least that's what I'm convincing myself)

Interesting..thanks for that. The S7 I test drove did not stitch even the corner/front/rear cameras for an overhead view like that page shows for the A6 Avant. It only had a park sensor display. I'll be going again this weekend to play with it more.
