Default Estoril Blue Crystal thoughts?

Wondering how this color is to maintain from anyone who has it? Haven't seen it in person and in some pictures it looks very light and metallic and in others very dark and almost black.

If dark/blackish assuming swirls/dirt/dust are a pain.. Love the color in most pictures but dealt with enough black tone colors and I want to avoid and would end up just going with maybe a regular A7 in quartz.

Very hard to judge from the pictures

Thanks

Estoril looks amazing when it's clean & detailed.

It's a darker blue, so you will have to keep after it bit more, but don't think it's as bad as black.

Thanks, I was a little worried it may be dark. Not so much worried about keeping it clean as I am with swirl marks showing like black does. As much as I would love the car, swirls drive me nuts and why i end up with a more silver color that hides everything.

Estoril blue crystal effect was at the top of my color list for a long time. I was willing to pay the $2500 for it. When I saw it on another model at the dealership, I was disappointed. The crystal effect goes away when it's overcast or in the shade. It's always overcast where I live. It's a nice color but it's flat when out of the sun.

On the same day I did see a Garnet Red Pearl A6. It had a lot more life than the pictures showed. It went way up the favorite color scale.

Bottom line - see the colors in person if you can. It doesn't matter if it's on a Q5 or A4.

One of our members (HyperS4, IIRC) just traded in his Estoril Blue S6 on a white one because he couldn't stand how soft the paint is and how easily it scratched. Personally, I like Estoril and only have a Glacier White S6 myself because it's what was available.

Keep in mind it is the clear coat that scratches. The same thing will happen on the white and other light colors, it is just harder to see the scratches. It is a difficult paint color to keep cleaner and swirl free. But with proper care it isn't too bad.

Personally I love how the color looks on overcast days and how it darkens up. The car looks great at dusk.

i agree. i saw an S7 in Estoril and it was amazing. One of my fav blues. I like the deepness of it yet not so dark that it looks black. Great color for the A7/S7/RS7 body style

Estoril Blue looks amazing, but its true in direct sunlight you don't see the crystal effect. I have gotten compliments everywhere I go with the car. Like any paint job you must take care of it. Check out my cheesy video
