Congrats. When I did one for a buddy, I just used the grips at the end of wire strippers...

they gave me a good enough grip to just yank the module out without needing to pull the cupholder or button assembly. Of course, I pulled out the red triangle cap first to get a good grip, but it did not matter...the part coming out was junk anyway.

That picture reminded me to ask you how many of the clips for the hazard surround trim did you break??? I see one in the borrowed picture (lower right).
