Default Shallow Cup Holder?

Twice in the last 2 weeks, my water bottle has gone flying out of the cup holder when breaking hard (bad?). Am I the only one who thinks the cup holders are too shallow?

Is there a mod for it?

I had stuff in there pretty consistently, and Maryland driver's have forced many panic stops, but no flying drinks from me. I did have a gas station coffee slosh a bit out of the small drinking hole onto the console. Fortunately, the rag I keep handy allowed me to wipe it up before any seeped in anyplace. No more of those kinds of lids after that. If you have a cup that you think might fall out, you can use washcloth or something to hold it in more snugly.

I find the front cup holders quite good. But maybe that's because my previous car was a D3 and my other cars are a C5 and a 2000 Passat.

The rear cup holders are not as good.

+1 and many of same prior vehicles. New cup is in order. Heck, mine passed the generic Taco Bell disposable cup last nite as I was leaving, so it isn't an Audi only cup design.

Out expedition has 10 cup holders. Cup holders are not German cars strong point. I think the only reason there's any at all is the US market wanted them. I've seen mush worse in bmw's etc than the D4 audi's. Actually surprised they're as good as they are.

This is my Merc's cupholder. It looks pretty flimsy and wiggles a bit, but actually works pretty well. No idea who made it their project to design, though. Could have made it a little simpler.

Those are a joke and a accidental spill waiting to happen

I worried about that for a while, but it seems to do just fine. The D3 had the least effective cupholders I ran into.

If challenge the worst with 2000 740il e38. Mainly just for looks. Might have been marginally ok for 1/3 full 8 oz styrofoam cup. Really hard to find any that wasn't already broke either.
