Default "2:00 h" flashes on the dash display with no other warnings

After two hours of driving, "2:00 h" starts flashing in the field where the "miles left on tank" readout usually is. After four hours, it flashes "4:00 h". But I cannot find any other service or warning lights. Can anyone help?

It means it is time to sell the car. The engine is destroyed!

Just press and hold the button on the bottom of the stalk to clear it. It is in the manual, if you have it.

Thanks for your graciousness. Manual is ordered, and two service techs had no clue what it meant.

It is a general warning that it may be time for the driver to take a rest. It defaults to 2 hour increments of continuous uninterrupted usage.

if you read the manual you will notice that it says the car does this. its like a safety feature to remind you to stop, and rest for a bit.

Two Audi Techs had no clue? Scary. You can also hit the rocker on the end of the wiper stalk to stop the flashing.

I had the same question re: my TT after the first "sort of" long trip I'd taken it on. And as with your experience, my Audi dealer was stumped too - they contacted Audi to find out.
