Transmission issue on a 2011 Q5

The transmission developed a strange fault. When necessary due to an upgrade, it would downshift (which is normal) then slam immediately back into the higher gear with an uncomfortable thunk. This occurred initially when in cruise, towing a light windsurfing trailer. Subsequent experimentation, however, shows that it does it with or without cruise activated and with or without the trailer. Left alone, it continues to thunk and intervention is necessary.

- This is a known problem for MY2009-2010 which It was removed from MY2011
- There TSB for MY 2011-2012 but this is an old upgrade

My 2011 starting do this this right around 4500 miles, had the software update at the 5K service. So far so good.at 52K. The code description read as an infotainment software update on the invoice. Was told that was pretty normal at the time.
