I did a five hour drive using the stretch massage function once and did not have to stop.

Thanks for the info. I am buying a 2015 for road trips and vacations. Wanted to know that my back and butt won't suffer! I know what you mean about electric seat settings. But once you get it right, then press the memory save button and your good to go.

They are awesome. I traded up from a 2012 A6 Prestige to a 2015 A8, and the seats were a big part of it. I loved the A6 but the seats were really uncomfortable. The 22-way seats with massage are fantastic.

Ditto on the awesome. Have done 10-12 hours a day with no stress or strain and with minimal rest stops. The massage functions help a great deal as well as the seemingly endless adjustments. And the seats combined with the overall ride and comfort of the A8L results in probably the perfect highway vehicle for long distance travel.

I like them a lot, but the wife can't figure out how to work her side.
Have made 4 eight hour drives in the past week. At 74 years old I couldn't have done it without the seat.

The best seats I ever owned in a car were from Volvo in my S60R. The A8's 22 way seats are just ok for me. I like that you can move the all over the place, but the amount of tilt is limited and the seat is hard. I feel like I sit on the seat. I also have the Sport design, so the quilting design likely makes them less comfortable. But they are eye catching. I use the massage feature daily.
My longest trip has been about 2 hours. With the comfort of the car overall, the ride was very pleasant and arrived without much fatigue.
I passed on the A6 and Caddie CTS as I could not get comfortable in the seats. Both are designed for people with short legs. The seat bottom is not big enough for 6ft tall people. I found the A6 seats hard. 25 min commute in the loaner A6 required a lot of seat aerobics to keep blood flowing.
