Tire pressures
Afternoon, all. Anyone here know what the right tire pressures (front/rear) are for the MY2012 A6 with the 19" sport package and summer tires? I am running the pressures that are on the door jamb for my 2012 sport package that came with 18" all seasons (38psi front / 41psi rear) and, I think, it's too high for the 19" with summers that I have on the car now.

The door placard shows the recommended pressures for a fully loaded car. The manual shows the recommended pressures for partially loaded cars for the various tire sizes. I run 35/35 on my 19s.

35 is probably about right. Door sticker is always too high.
The tires will tell you how much pressure they need. if they are wearing more down the middle = pressure too high. Worn on the shoulders = pressure too low (not accounting for camber wear.
On new tires you can watch the "hairs" to wear off to determine the correct pressure.
On used tires, or for racing applications, if you really want to know the perfect pressure, mark across the tread of a warm tire with white shoe polish. The stripe will wear off evenly when the pressure is correct.

On my '16 2.0 with 19" sport pkg I usually run 35 front/ 37 rear. Oddly, when I drop the pressure the ride seems rougher on roads with minor irregularities like broken pavement.

So I just rotated my tires today. I run 31 pounds front and 30 pounds rear. Not that the 1 lb makes much difference. Wear pattern is good except for a little camber wear.
90% of my driving is a 1 hr commute at 64 mph, so my tires will tend to be warmer than someone with a shorter commute or more stop and go driving.

I have been running 38/42 as suggested on the door for the past 3 year (stupid me not checking the owners manual) the wear seems to be OK but I do notice that my rear brakes gets worn REALLY fast (like within 20k miles) I suspect the TC and ESC is kicking in a lot to overcome the "lose tail"
I am now running 34/36. I always tend to run a bit higher in the back to help counter understeer
