Default Anyone else experiencing?

dear users,

my 2018 Q7 2.0TFSI ,

has as been making a weird clunk or pop noise EVERYTIMR, before I brake to a complete stop,

also I notice when I accelerate slowly it will also make that pop/clunk noise,

only happens at at low speeds in gear 1 or gear 2,

for f I would describe it, it is a sensation of something disengaging or engaging,

the pop/clunk noise very noticeable with A/C and fan turned off.

basically the noise is underneath or the car, around the front,

only happens, right before I brake to a complete stop, and the car would sometimes shutter or vibrate before the clunk,

sounds like something disengaging, IS THIS NORMAL?

Agreed, no clunks on my 2018 Q. I would have them take a look at it for sure.

Hi there,

Its related to the stop / start function and has been discussed at length across multiple threads. Many never notice it, to others its very obvious. Its a subtle cluck (not click) like the sound you can make when rolling your tongue back in your mouth and popping it forward. You can reproduce it at will by pushing the stop start button on and off while sitting idle with the brake depressed. Every 2017/18 Q7 I have been in does it.

It's normal and I am beginning to think either some people don't mind it, or that it's quieter on some Q7's compared to others. I wish I got a quiet one, and if there is a way to replace it, I'd be willing to give it a try. This was discussed in few other threads. It's clicks twice, once coming to a stop and once stopped.

I have a 2017 and I have never noticed this sound. So just for the heck of it, I tried to replicate the sound as described in another post by toggling the auto start / stop on & off while sitting at idle with the brake depressed and I still didn't hear a noise. It engaged and disengaged seamlessly.
