Default 1 cap on each wheel does not fit securely

I recently had winter tires/wheels installed. The shop could not get 1 cap on each wheel to fit securely. They left them on but all 4 that were loose ended up falling off. I have since tried putting extra caps on but they do fit loose so I’m leaving them off for now.

Is is there a trick to getting one cap on? The other caps are secure.

You have wheel locks? Just a guess. Otherwise there's no reason to have 1 lug bolt on each wheel have a different size head. Or, are the caps cracked that fall off? I'm assuming SQ5.

2018 q5 prestige that had 20” tires and just put on 18” blizzak tires. It had wheel locks with the stock tires, but the installer said the whee locks didn’t fit with the the new tires/wheels. But maybe the caps were for the stock tires and that’s why there is a difference?

Compare the diameter of the opening on a cap that falls off and one that doesn't. It wouldn't take much.

The wheel lock caps are shaped differently and won't fit on the regular lugs.
