Does Q8 have hands free tailgate?
Stupid question but the dealer doesn’t know the answer.
The sales guy kept kicking the back of the car but couldn’t get it to open and said it should have it. I have the premium plus package does it have a hands free tailgate or is that part of the prestige package only?
Thank you

Definitely not a stupid question - actually very relevant.
Page 40 of the Q8 Owner's Manual says it has the "hands free" feature "if so equipped". But - the online specs on the Q8 build page just says "power tailgate" for all three trim levels. No mention of hands free like on the Q7 build page.
Now that Q8s are starting to show up in owner's hands - hopefully one of them can confirm yes or no.

My 16 Escalade was seemed like Whack-a-Mole in reverse. I usually ended up using my hand to open it.

There is a thread here regarding those with the tow hitch having to kick it to one side, left I think, and once you find that spot it seems to work well.

Now that we know where the spot is, the open and close feature works 9 out of 10 times. The "trick" is to kick (slightly to the left of center) and STEP BACK. If you kick and stay there, the tailgate will not open -- the slight (half step or so) step back did the trick for us.
