Hi there, first post around.
My B8 has always made very strange noise during cold starts. Any start after that is smooth and this specific noise is not present. It is there only after the car has stayed overnight or there's been a long interval between starts (8+ hours).

I thought it is a faulty/aging pulley initially. Both belt pulleys were replaced as well as the tensioner. If you play the first video below, you can see the strange behaviour of the tensioner and the reason why it was replaced. It turned out a brand new tensioner has the strange weird movement. That was a shock for me, I am relatively new to the VAG world and neither the BMWs, nor the Mercedes vehicles I owned were using similar design belt tensioners.

The belt itself was replaced quite recently as well (noise continued).

Any thoughts or directions are greatly appreciated.
(timing chain is approx 4years old and 50k km.)
