2018 Q5 rear Coil Spring broke
Hi
I have 80,000 service on my 2018 Q5. They have indicated that one of the rear springs is cracked and needs replacement. I don't do any offroad driving. Has anyone else had this issue occur? Is it covered by warranty. They also want me to get a 4 wheel alignment after replacing the spring. Any advice or feedback would be welcome

Yet another systemic failure on carefully maintained low-mileage Audis and VW Group dodges responsibility for a safety-related fix. Makes it really, really difficult to give a positive response to "Ask the man who owns one."

Only 2018's from what I have seen. Anyone with other years having failed springs?

Noticed my 2018 SQ5 had that when checking today. (49k miles / 78k km). Passenger side spring is broken at the mount.

Folks should post pics of the broken springs so we can see more detail.
Cold climate salted road environment will cause springs to break over time on any vehicle. Once the finish on the spring is cracked then it is the beginning of the end as corrosion sets in and the spring will break.
