Default Virtual Cockpit keeps going back to Date/Time screen

Is there any way to ensure that the Virtual Cockpit "startup screen" starts with whatever screen it was on when the car was turned off? I have a '24 Q8 and if I leave the car for any extended period, whenever I start it up again the virtual cockpit shows the "date/time", which to me is the most useless screen. In contrast, the MMI screen always starts up with whatever screen it was on when I turned off the car. Anyone have any ideas?

This is a known bug in the Q8e software. Don't hold your breath for a fix. Mine has a few other bugs too, sometimes forgets to turn the radio on when powered on, sometimes forgets the home screen placement when powered on.

I have the same problem with my Q8. I have to go in and fine tune the cockpit every time I start the car.

Ugh - was hoping for a better response haha! This is def a bummer. In contrast, the MMI works perfectly - it starts with whatever screen I left off on.

That's just part of my start-up routine while I'm waiting for CarPlay to connect - double pull on the left paddle and scroll to the long term memory screen if it's moved to a different one.

Same except I switch to the radio option. What’s strange though is sometimes it does retain the last settong (not the paddle but the cockpit). I just haven’t been able to figure out any pattern.

Nope and it is extremely frustrating.

I hope you have better luck
than I did. I bugged them a lot and ultimately they told me it’s the way it’s designed and nothing can be done. Let me know if you have better luck!
