Default 7-speed DL382 - 0CL transmission filters replaced! DSG filter service

Changed the transmission filters on my 2017 A4 Quattro 7-speed DL382 - type 0CL at 93k Miles (150k Km).
Car was driven by my Wife since new, had Audicare since new, trans fluid was changed by Audi dealer at 40k and 80K miles.
Trans fluid with just 13k Miles was dark!
Look how dirty the small "high pressure" filter was. Filter also shows signs of ballooning (from the restricted flow?).
Transmission shifts much smoother now and holds more power at wide open throttle WOT.

Great job. How was the job while under the car?

Is there a specified interval for this? How much extra time would you say it took once everything was drained?

Wow, great job! The ballooning of the small high pressure filter is supersizing. I always thought the flow direction would inward for all the filters doesn't matter it's for oil or air.

It was a miserable job under the car. You have to remove half the car to replace a filter and it needs a front wheel alignment afterwards.
The other VW/Audi DSG's call for 40k mile filter changes. But they have an easily accessible external filter canister. The B9 A4/A5 has a frame in the way that must be removed, 16 bolts hold it in, and the power steering rack mounts to it.
By comparison changing just the DSG fluid is very easy to do. I've seen fellas do it on YouTube without a lift.

I was guessing it sucked but hoped it wasn't too bad.

I've changed the fluid on an automatic transmission that didn't have a drain plug on the floor and it was a pretty messy job. At least this has a drain plug but it looks like you'll still have to deal with some when you drop the pan.

Having to shimmy out with, what I'm guessing is the valve body, didn't look too fun either.

Again, great job!

Great info!
Going to attempt the filter change myself. Did you have to install the special locating pins in place of bolts 1 & 2 in the attached diagram? I am probably reading into the service manual too much.

YES, mine were delayed by a snowstorm so I proceeded without the alignment pins. They did make re-assembly easier.

Just saw a price drop on this kit, but I used genuine fluid:

.
This tool made the fluid fill part of the job quick and easy. It was only $64 when I bought it:

Much appreciated. I already have a fluid extractor/filler for the job. But will consider since I use it for oil changes and do not want to cross contaminate. This project is definitely adding up with all the tools required. One last question. Did you also use this tool that is also mentioned in the manual?

No need for that tool.
The electric steering rack stays attached to the car. The locating pins tool holds the rack in place.
.
When I replaced the motor mounts, I used this to support the motor, but not for the trans filter job.
