Moved to Germany w/my US spec A5 SB (w/US maps) - is it possible to load maps for Europe w/traffic?

I wouldn’t bother if Waze works or use your mobile. You’ll either move back to the US or the next guy has the problemo.

Ja - I use Waze 99.9% of the time, especially since I need to know where all the numerous (and usually well concealed) traffic cameras are located.

If you are at all interested, check with The Nav Man as a suggestion. He is based in the UK and offers MMI unlocking as well as the latest Audi maps for regions throughout the world. Definitely worth an e-mail asking if he has what you need.

Just got back from 3 weeks in Germany, used Android Auto the entire time, worked like a champ.

Every region has a FEC code associated with that region, so only maps that match that FEC pattern can be loaded. If you want to load maps from another region, you need to load the FEC codes of that region into your system to allow the MMI to accept those maps.
I've given you enough information here for you to work out what you need to do now.

When I picked up my A4 with European delivery Audi provided a handheld navigation device that had to be returned when the car was dropped off for delivery to the US. (Hard to believe that was over seven years ago.)
