Default EPC light on, car acting strange.

Hello,
2012, 4.2 FSI euro spec
3 months ago my coolant level went low and I had very bad smell from AC vents coming to cabin, now 2 days ago EPC light started to come on after I start up the car and then it goes away. Today in the middle of the road EPC light came on and throttle was reduced, when I took a turn car shut off in the middle of the road, I barely managed to go to the side of the road. Started the car up and all was fine.

I researched the forum and most likely there is a correlation between coolant leak and wiring and ECU being affected, my question is how do I approach this issue? what needs to be done in order for me to be able to approach this issue and fix it effectively?

The reason I'm asking is because in my city there are not many qualified AUDI specialists, even the dealership is not qualified at the high level to diagnose and then deal with all the issues.

Please help

Since my last post, when I start the car I feel that it does not work smoothly and after 2-3 minutes it stalls, after that when I start the car it does not start, starter keeps rotating but it does not start, after a while it does and its a magic circle again

I will take the car to a shop and change the battery and even engine oil, see if that makes a difference.

Do you have any tools/resources to scan for codes? I'd think that would be step one, run a scan with something like VCDS and see what errors are present.

Car was diagnosed with low pressure fuel pump problem, the fuel pump itself works fine but after a while it can not maintain pressure and stops working, after many tests it was concluded that fuel pump itself works fine but fuel pump relay needs to be changed, relay is the problem which does not maintain enough voltage for fuel pump to work effectively.

Now we are trying to get hold of fuel pump relay to see if that solves the issue

Update on my situation.

Fuel pump or its relay has nothing to do with the situation.

It turned out to be the following problem: Waterways derange was clogged and as a result ECU got wet along its plug cords and cable, they dried and cleaned it and its back to normal again.

Car seems to be working smoothly.

My question is the following: sometimes when I used to start the engine my car was not able to give me option of "raise" on suspension in MMI, as a result ride was not as smooth or comfortable (now problem seems to be gone), could wet or moist ECU along its plug cord be the problem?

Anything is possible with water intrusion. Once it gets to connectors and boards, there are many parallel paths that normally don't exist. I would determine where the suspension control module is on the car (see self study guide) and inspect it and the wiring. Best of luck.

Thank you, your comment is much appreciated. I will look in to suspension control module to see if it has been affected.
