Default 2024 insurance increase in California

Just got my CA insurance renewal and it's a whipping $2,000 higher than it was last year. Last year $3,100 and this year it's $5,100. Clean record with no accidents or tickets.

Anyone else with a similar story?

Yes, My Etron is about the same @ $2,557 per year. I have 4 vehicles on my policy which makes it over $5,000 annually.

I'm paying a State Farm Policy premium of $1,926.70 / 6 mos in Dallas TX for my '24 Q8 etron Launch Edition. Premium is reduced also because of multiple vehicles and bundling with Homeowners policy.

We have State Farm but are located in the Portland Metro area. We got re-rated this year, and our etron rates dropped from $550/6 months to $400/6 months. We have full coverage and drive about 6,000 miles per year.

I am 1 person, was doing $1380/yr w/ USAA. I complained to them several times because I work from home. The way it works is everyone's rates go up instead of just the people w/ dings on their records. I switched to Noblr this year, my rate is in the $50s/month.

The rates will continue to go up until you refuse to pay said rates. It may have also have a lot to do with automakers having moved into the surveillance business. They're selling your driving data to insurers and the junk software that interprets said data tends to classify anything other than constant 40mph on an empty road as dangerous driving.

Wow! We are in VA $350 and for 6 months for etron with progressive on multi car policy. However, we did get a note for the home insurance renewal and they want thousand dollar more than previous year with zero claims in our record.

sounds like you may need to shop around for a new carrier. with that type of increase, they are almost begging you to leave them and find someone else!

for reference, i pay about $103/mo on the etron in So Cal. max limits on everything, $250 comprehensive and $1000 collision deductible. i have never had a collision claim however the etron has had 2 glass claims with this carrier and each time covered under comprehensive. Connect insurance (through costco) -- they have been great. both glass claims were processed super quick, reimbursed to me within a week of repair.

i also just added my 16 year old but we got him a toyota . we pay 50% more for the toyota even though his mileage will be less than 1/2 of my mileage! i don't want to know what the etron premium would be if the etron was listed as his "primary"

I'm paying $2400 per year for 2 cars (2017 CX5 and 22 Etron) with $1k deductible and max coverage in Georgia. No accidents and clear record.
