Got the warning on the dash yesterday "SOS Communication Function" malfunction. Some googling said to reset the MMI (didn't help), or to hold the SOS button down to reset that, which just called the SOS folks. This just shows that I don't actually have a full malfunction.
Looking in VCDS, I see there are 3 or 4 antennas, so maybe I have a problem with one of them. It's hard to tell. I've attached three screenshots of the error codes I have after clearing anything existing. These come back.
Note that I did the aftermarket interior light install, starting about a month ago, and finishing up a few weeks ago. This just started yesterday. I don't imagine that it's related as I don't *think* I was near any antennas or their wiring, but who knows. Also, I would have expected any errors to start immediately.

Yea, I just realized I forgot that. '24 A4 Premium Plus. Yea, I still have some warranty left, but I thought I would post here first, in case it was something that I caused with the addition of the aftermarket lights. If it seems like it's just a failure of the SOS antenna, then I'll make an appointment next week.

Since youre under warranty there's a TSB to address the B20000 telematics error that involves a software update. As for you antenna question, I dont have VCDS but have OBDEleven which will report the connection status of the three antennas connected to the telematics module.

That is perfect. Looks to fit my problem exact. I'll get that update and see if it doesn't fix my problem. Thanks for the quick reply!
My 2023 started doing the same thing yesterday. SOS malfunction.
I'm still under warranty (only have 18k miles). I guess I'll call my local dealership and bring it in.
I'd love to check the antennas, as my remote myAudi functionality no longer works. I suspect an antenna disconnect. Any idea how I could check those?
you can check the telematics antenna(s) status with OBDeleven and most likely VCDS. I believe if an antenna is disconnected or shorted in addition to the malfunction message on the instrument cluster there will be a fault code stored in the telematics module.

Thanks. I'm going to be buying a VCDS this weekend.
Edit: Might get obdeleven instead. Researching that option.
