1997 8L A3 rear speakers problem

1997 8L A3 rear speakers problem
Hello, my A3 gives no sound at all from rear speakers. I think it has an original factory subwoofer/amp in the back inside left wall. The amp clicks when turning radio on and off but gives no bass. What can I do to fix these problems?

The Multimeter ($10) is your friend!
Use your multimeter and measure that the speaker ohms are about 4-8, that the cables from the speakers to the amplifier are not cut off somewhere ... etc ...
