Help, check engine light is on, car is running normally, fluid levels all ok,

what could be causing it? Does the O2 sensor trigger the light? I don't have a VAG tool. Anybody in Sac, CA willing to meet me somewhere with one tomorrowish?

start it and stop it about four times. should clear it if nothing's really wrong.

Mine has come on twice in the past 4k

Mine has come on twice in the past 4,000 miles. First was one morning on a cold start, car was missing terribly and the light came on, it eventually smoothed out, the code was for a misfire on cylinder 6, no idea what caused it.

Second time was yesterday morning, cold start, light came on but car ran fine, it was a fault from the air injection pump (emissions).....everything seems OK according to the mechanic. Strange...
