Dunlop SP Sport A2 or Bridgestone Potenza RE950
My Dunlop SP Sport 5000 on my Avant are worn out. They are great, but they only last less than 2 years (about 20,000 something miles). Looking for replacement. Considering Dunlop SP Sport A2 or Bridgestone Potenza RE950. The Dunlop is $21 cheaper. Anybody tries them yet?

I just bought some A2's (more)
I had no problem driving through a snowstorm earlier this week. The tires give up a little in handling (vs. Pirelli 6000's) but the ride comfort and noise seemed to have improved. Overall, I'm satisfied. Haven't tried the Potenza's, though.

I've tried two generations of Dunlops and two generations of Bridgestones . . .
I found the construction on the Bridgestone RE910 and now RE950 far superior to anything else out there. Bridgestone supposedly remedied the minor weak point of the RE910's--too hard rubber in the center compared to the shoulder--in the RE950's which have a softer center tread than shoulder tread. They also improved the water performance using uni-directional tread pattern in the RE950's.
Although, I have not tried the latest generation of Dunlops, I liked their previous tires a lot. However, they did not keep their crisp performance throughout the tread life like the Bridgestones.
The F1-based RE910 and RE950 designs will really impress you as a daily driver and for occasional spirited driving not when new but when they get old and maintain their like-new performance.
My advice . . . Go with RE950's.
