Hesitation upon startup (2.8)
Hey everybody, I just started having this strange problem with my car today. It first started when my car was on a slight nose down incline, parked for only about 10 minutes. When I tried to turn the ignition on it hesitated and died but started the second time though not as strongly as usually. Happened again later today, but the car was parked on a level surface. Could it be aftermarket gascap I had to put on to pass smog? Thanks for any help and suggestions/what/where to check.

how old are your spark plugs?...
check the plugs, ignition wires and get a bottle of Techron from the gas station, fill up the car again with gas from a different place.
i had problems, not at start up but mis fire after i changed spark plugs, then i had to change the plug wires and everything seems fine.
that time i was using Cosco's gas but the problem presist so it wasn't the gas
the the gas cap has leaks, you would have gotten a check engine light already. and since the gas cap was put on to pass smog, the seal would be newer then your stock one that couldn't pass smog
