Xi BMW
FYI a three week old xi just crumbled its front transfer case on the bimmer.org board. Just in case people shopping are having second thoughts on the Audis. Guess those Land Rover parts just wont fit right! SJM

Do you really want to start making those comparisons?
Audi has plenty of its own problems (blown turbos, transmissions, etc.). As long as it gets fixed under warranty no harm.
I am looking at the BMW xi and possibly and Audi A6 Avant (used) and have to say at this point that posts on bimmer.org and here aren't giving me tons of confidence in either car. At least the new BMW would give me a 4 year/40,000 mile warranty. I am trying to figure out if an used A6 for $25k would cost me more or less than a new BMW for $34k over four years under warranty. As for the superiority of Audi or BMW's awd systems, I really don't care, as long as it gets me past the CHP on the way to Tahoe.

The reason that the posts here and on the bimmer site aren't giving you a lot of confidence is that nobody posts "I drove my car today and nothing broke". It's only those that have problems who post to find solutions or see if anyone else has had a similar problem.

Id get the xi over the avant, but wait a while until they shake things out a bit. The avant has much more room though, but all that room with less hp than the 330xi doesnt seem appealing at all. Im getting a 325ci for wifes car, dont the posts at either board stop you from either. If it did I wouldnt have my 2.7t this year!
