Audi gets another BMW fanatic. . . .
Folks,
I have to say coming from a 2001 740i and a (LEMON) 2003 745i. . .the Audi A6 is amazing! I just aquired a new 07 3.2 Quattro A6 and feel short-changed by BMW.
Audi, by far is an extremely luxurious product worth more than what they are selling it at.
BMW should go back to school with Audi as the teacher.

BMW 7 series depreciates faster than Audi's trust me. . .
I tried to sell my BMW 745i lemon but the offers were so low that I hired an attorney to get my money back. BMW bought it back thankfully.
No problems with resale value. The A6 will be a keeper for a long time. It will be my everyday driver.

Come to think of it, if I thought about resale, I could have bought
a BMW 5 series. But then I am not too crazy about the Bangle styling.
Anyway, I was so put off by the cheap interior and the entire car (745i) falling apart even the transmission, that I have no respect for BMW at all.
They made a great product, the 2001 e38 740i. They f**ked up with the e65/e66.
I am convinced now that unfortunately, BMW is simply a marketing company and not a real automobile company.

Think longn term-
what will be the 'classic' BMWs? It's not the current 5'er or 7'er. It will be the E38 and the E39 cars.
When I bought my A6, although I looked at a current 5, I most closely considered a 2006 A6 to a 2001 or 2002 540i.
I've said this before- and will say it again- the A6 is the car BMW should be building.

No Doubt. . .No Doubt. . .True BMW fans. . .
will stick to Audi for now. The new crop of BMW customers cheapen the quality of a once proud brand.
Kinda makes me feel old when you know a great product has gone bad, and how ignorant new BMW customers are who never drove the old e38 and e39s.

Andy

so true. . .in LA. . .it is the "it" car, too bad it has so many problems. . .
that owners simply grin and bear it. They tend to be quiet about it and simply develop a relationship with their service advisor.
When I was carrying around a few people in my 745i, people asked me what is wrong with the transmission, and I would say sheepishly, it is supposed to do that. Meanwhile the 3 and 5 series loaners never had a transmission hiccup.
I understand the new 750 are no better and continue to have problems. BMW is paying a lot of hush money to keep the reputation of the 750 on the low down.
But the resale market has spoken.
