Considering Contesting a Ticket - Need help!

Ok, so I've never had an infringement on my license before, and about a week ago I got stopped on a rainy night, going down pagemill. The cop pulled me over and said that I was going 52 in a 35. I told him that I was pretty sure that I was going the speed-limit, but he said that the radar pinged a 52. he then proceeded to say that he wasn't giving me a ticket becuase of my speed, but because they'd had allot of accidents that evening with the rain.

To be perfectly honest I have been guilty of speeding a number of times, but this was not one of them, atleast I don't think. I had been driving slowly becaues of the rain (I once was involved in a bad accident, and I stil tense up in the rain). I can't honestly say that I saw the speedo when he pulled me over, because my right contact had fallen out seconds before, and I was slowing down to find it, but I know that seconds before that I had been doing 35...it was only about 100 yrds. from a stop light that I had just come to a complete stop at. Anyway, does anyone have any advice, or suggestions about whether or not I should contest it, and if so what I should do??
