Default Please help! Speeding ticket problem......

To start off with, if you know of a good lawyer in Oregon who can help me with this, it would be greatly appreciated!!!! Please just respond here.

Moving from Seattle to Colorado, get a ticket for doing 75 in a 65 in Baker City, Oregon. The highway patrol officer said he radared me and that's how he knew, but he was pulled over on the right hand side of the road, facing the direction that I was going as I was coming around a turn that was a right hand, banked sweeper. So, he would have had to been completely turned around in his car to radar me....is he lying? I am nearly positive I was actually going over 80 but wasn't going to tell him that
The other thing is that on the ticket itself, he only wrote down half of my driver's license number, the latter half. So, for instance, if my DL# was really: "rbella4225" he only wrote "a4225". Does this make the ticket void anyway (once I show that in court)???
The really ironic thing is that I was doing 130 about five minutes before he pulled me over. There are some straights there where you can see foever, and they're completely flat.
Oh, by the way, the fine is $109.
Thanks!!!

Default what a nerd for giving a ten over ticket

first......most states have amazing technology for catching you, this bumkin however probably had a two way radar which they can flip a switch from front to rear this is how they can sit in the middle of a highway facing either direction and still clock either direction they feel like at an instant.

second...in MD, if the cops has any of your info incorrect liek car color, tag, registration address, license number, its thrown out, or your lawyer would do that, hard to fight hard withotu a lawyer.

third...and this has worked for just me so far..if you delay the court case for longer than a year, more than likely the officer will not keep track of really old evidence and paperwork since it gets filed, and may not bring it to court on that date when you finally do roll aoudn to it, but you have to DELAY IT a lot! for this to work. then just plead a hell ****ign not guilty and let the officer say i dont have that evidence with me, and judge says dismissed....happened to me twice!

Default Some good advice

I have live in Oregon for a long time and recived many tickets. The best thing you can do is pay the thing. He is right about the two way radar. But a cop not going to a hearing is wrong. That is there job to do such a thing and not to go to a hearing looks bad.You can call and see if they will reduce it over the phone. Most likly you well ether pay all or most of the amount. If you try draw it out you still have to pay court fees in Oregon witch can lead up to more than you think. Just call or pay it

Default 10 over ain't the end of the world. Do u have that bad a record that u need a lawyer?

Pay the fine, consider it a driving tax, and move on.

Default No, no bad record...just don't want my insurance rates to go up

plus, I really don't feel like paying that large of a fine for something so stupid.
