Turbo's without a turbo guage and no Turbo timer?

Default Turbo's without a turbo guage and no Turbo timer?

Man...I've got alot of upgrading to do on my ride....So why would a company like audi not put a turbo gauge on a bi-turbo engine?

Why would audi not include a turbo timer if its so crucial to cool the engines? ....

Maybe I should've bought an M3

Default You don't really need the gauge in stock form. I'm not sure a turbo timer is crucial either

There's actually an electric oil pump that can circulate oil through the turbo if it's too hot after shutdown. That's pretty advanced for a stock car! I've seen quite a few turbo vehicles but none ever came with a turbo timer. A lot did come with boost gauge, it's too bad Audi didn't add one.

Default The after-run pump circulates coolant and not oil

Also most people leave their car in gear when parked so a turbo-timer would cause more accidental clutch and tranny damage as well as more customer complaints, hence they went for a 10 minute coolant after-run pump instead.


Also the S4 is supposed to be a LPT (light pressure turbo) so a guage isn't really important to most people.

I think my mothers Volvo S70 also doesn't have a boost guage.

Now if you chip you then you want a boost guage

I do wish they had one in the Audi accessory catalog.

I mean who here has really bought one of the cig-lighter map lights?


BTW my current M3 doesn't even have an oil temp gauge. which would you rather be without???

Default LOW pressure turbo, not some pimpin high pressure rig.

The boost guage would just confuse the average buyer anyways due to natural daily variation. Audi, as does the other low pressure T (saab), does not do this. The turbo timer is absolutely irrelevant with the oil cooler and water after-run. I assume you come from the japanese high pressure turbo land.
