I did STFA (on2 websites even), so your insight would be appreciated. Grinding sound sometimes???
First, I did STFA but all the grinding noise posts were a little different. Ok, so I just replaced the TBB about a week ago as there was a tear in it. I was driving with the stock chip for a while b/c when I first experienced the loss of boost I took the chip out.
Well, I put the X-chip back in and when I accelerate there is a metallic, grinding type sound heard at around .50 - .60 bar of pressure as I accelerated from 1st or 2nd gear--did not happen any other times. So I swapped the stock chip back in and drove it but there was no sound when I accelerated in the same way.
Was I possibly hearing pinging or something? Has anyone else experienced this. Thanks in advance.

I had a similair sound when I first bought the car...
It sounded like a metallic ringing sound. I was completely stock at the time and I had my tech ride in the car with me and he claimed that it was the turbos spooling up. (No way...) Then I had an accident and I needed front-end work. Next thing I know the sound is gone and hasn't come back since! (knocks on very large piece of wood....) But like the others have said, I think it had something to do with the wastegate opening and closing as it only happened under hard acceleration.

Thanks for the clip Funkadelic. Unfortunately I am at work now and my computer does not have speakers, but I'll check when I get home. One of your other clips has helped me in the past too (the waterpump). BTW, really nice car...I'm your So. Cal twin (except mine's making this stupid noise I guess).
