Side view mirror dimming sometimes doesn't work -- any1 know how to remove the mirror?

I've already done a search -- it looks like this is a common problem:

The driver's side view mirror's auto-dimming function sometimes doesn't work. But when I move it around a little, it works again. It seems like a loose connection somewhere.

Since the car is out of warranty, I wanted to see if I can take it apart and check the connection.

1. Does anyone have instructions on removing the side view mirror?
2. For anyone who had this problem, is there a way to fix it?

it's pretty easy, just push the push to one side (angle), and carefully pull.

It's held in by 3-4 push-in connectors. There are 2 pairs of wires: autodim & heater.

Disconnect and replace.

I'm sure there's a used market for the OEM mirrors, since there are some folk that have replaced their mirrors with blind-spot/autodim/heated mirrors.

I'm having the same problem, where the driver's side doesn't want to always dim. The dealer said it was like $350 to replace.
Let me know if you find a fix, or a place to buy the mirror.
