7500 oil change on 2.7T - conventional oil or synthetic
The incremental dif in cost ($20/per change-$40/year at 15K miles/yr) is pretty insignificant when you consider the value of the car...think of it as cheap insurance.
I have a 4.2 and they told me I would be fine with the processed dinosaurs, but still said if it were their car, they would run synthetic.
Contrary to another post-response to your question, synthetics have been proven time and again to be superior. All your high performance manufacturers (Ferrari, Porsche, Lotus, even the Corvette) are factory filled with synthetic. Ford Taurus's are not. They get driven differently and the engines operate at lower temperatures. By the way Audi uses Mobil 1 in the R8's. Mobil One is by far the most advanced of the synthetics and is available in about 200 or so specially developed application formulations ranging from antarctic to racing. We can buy about two off the shelf.
