Home @ last w/my TTRoadster...impressions
The break-in period was nearly completed on my return trip from Oklahoma City to Albuquerque. Weather was a mixed bag (had rained so roads a little damp, overcast skies, sun peeking through...who wants to hear about the weather, Steve?). Anyway, trip was uneventful except for the great new wheels under my ****. I could have done without a guy in what I thought was an Acura towing a U-Haul trailer at 85-95 for more than 120 miles near me. I even slowed down to completely get out of his way only to find him waiting to drive alongside me so that his trailer was just even with my car. The car plate was from Ontario and (sorry, Canadians) that said alot about his driving. He finally left to fuel up and I thought I would have the last 60 miles without him and his U-Haul. Nope! He caught up. Hope he made it to wherever without wrecking. Must have been willing to fry his transmission for speed he was doing with that blasted trailer.
Now, about the car: This will be brief and non-technical. The 225 is more powerful, the mods are (after I really wanted them) sadly a notch lower on the enjoyment factor. The car is not as precise and feels like a larger vehicle. Perhaps the extra weight is also a factor to consider. The Bose sound is (IMHO) 150% better than the one in the coupe. Today I cleaned the car up from the trip and it was nice and warm so I drove with the top down. The sound system still showed lotsa nice sound. The tonneau cover is ludicrous. The trunk room is good for a briefcase. The fit and finish is exquisite and the baseball optic amber red will take some getting used to (I am a conservative in color and this colors screams loudly). It is striking with the nimbus grey however.
Pictures will follow in a couple of days. Yes, the spoiler is okay after all. At least it is tastefully "small."
