2000 Audi A6 2.7T - Lemon!

My experience with my new 2000 Audi A6 2.7T was been terrible. At 1,000 miles the coolant alarm started beeping regularly. At 1,700 miles Audi replaced both the oil cooler and coolant resevoir.
The coolant alarm started beeping again at 2,000 miles and this time Audi is replacing the entire engine. 5 months and 3,600 miles of alarms going off or the repair shop. I've files complaints with Audi Corporate, Auto BBB and CT Lemon Law. Anybody have a class action lawsuit that I can join?

I think 4x repair on same thing = lemon. You're close but...

A class-action suit would be for a whole bunch of people with the same problem. Yours is the first I've ever seen regarding coolant problems.

I'd say replacing the engine has a 95% chance of solving the problem forever. If not, then hopefully the lemon law will get you a new car.<p><a href="http://registry.audiworld.com/audi/registry/details.asp?car=5325">

class action lawsuits are a ripoff

Why would you wnat to join one? If they determine you got ripped off for hundreds of dollars you usually get something on the order of a $40 coupon. No cash, ever.

I'm sorry to hear you are having problems. I'm doubly sorry you want to sue a company which is giving you a new engine in an effort to fix the problem. It's better to not have trouble, but next best is if they fix it. And they seem to by trying to fix it.

In California Lemon law you need 3 unsuccessful attemps at repairing a significant problem or 30 days in the shop in the first 18 months of ownership. Most states have similar laws, sometimes the problems are limited to the first 12 months of ownership. If you meet these criteria you will get a full refund for the car or a new car.

I am not sure what would be the criteria for your class action suit, are you thinking about a suit for general poor reliability or something more specific. I haven't heard anything about cooling system problems on the A6.

I notice that you seem to be located in CT. If so, would you mind identifying your dealer for me. I've got different but probably serious problems with my 2.7T.
