Default New 2001 2.7t on the autobahn

I'm new to the forum but I have been following it religously for the last couple of months trying to decide wether to to buy a new A6 or just keep my A4. Well it only took one drive and I was hooked.
I ended up with a silver 2.7t loaded with everything except the sport package and cold weather group. I only have 1000 mile on the car right now and have changed out the tail lights at $200 and had the eibach springs installed for less then $500 bones. I guess it helps to be in Germany. My next option will be wheels and tires and then I will take a trip to Koblenz for a new chip.
I have had one problem though that I had to make a trip to the dealer. It seems when you have the sunroof all the way open it makes a terrible noise like a helicopter in the distance. I guess Audi knows about this and will be fixing my baby next week. Its something to do with the wind deflector.
I wish I had a garage the other night because some dirtbag took it apon himself to mark my car with a new key induced pinstripe on the trunklid.
I'm pissssssssssed!!!!! I already got a quote of $250 to fix it. Damb the luck!! That could have been my new brake pads.

Default Welcome! And . . .

You sure are lucky to be in Germany! $500 installed, for Eibach springs? Wow! $250 for bodywork to fix the paint on trunk lid doesn't sound too bad either. BTW how do you like the Eibach springs? And what area in Germany?

Sorry, now the bad news; if anyone is able to do anything for the whupming noise from a fully open sunroof, I think it'll be a first. My understanding is that it's a "design characteristic." I take care of it by closing mine one or two clicks, as is recommended in the U.S. manual.

Default There is a detent just short of full open...

Set your switch to this detent instead of full open and the noise should be significantly reduced or eliminated.

And congratulations!

I talked to the German dealer and he said once they install the larger wind deflector the noise will be gone. He also said the only down side is more wind inside the car. We shall see!!

There are only a couple of places where you can really open it up. Most of the time its bumper to bumper trafic at around 90+ mph. My girlfriends Boss has a S8 and he said he pushed it to 300kh I think thats around 180+ mph. I just can't wait to chip my car and see what she can do. Going to Koblenz and see the guys at Wetterauer. I will post results as soon as possible.
