A6 pricing question
I'm trying to get my boss to join the Audi family. He's looking at the following:
2.8 Avant
Ebony Pearl exterior
Melange leather interior
Premium package
sunroof package
cd changer
Bose System
the MSRP on audiusa.com is $42.425
he's looking at buying it from Anderson-Behel in San Jose. What can he expect to pay? Is there anything else about this car that he should know?

You'll see what a very good price is. If your boss is a world-class negotiator, he should start with that number and take it down a few notches.
The eventual price always comes down to two things: ability of buyer to get their price, desire of dealership to sell that car.

I just talked with Rector in Burlingame and I got them to go to $800 over invoice for both the 2.7T and the 2.8. I am still trying to get them to come down about $50/a month on the 2.7T. If I can I will be getting one of those.
BTW ..if anyone here is leasing a 2.7T, what was your drive off, your term and what are your payments if you dont mind me asking. Thanks!

Payment difference approx $22 per month per $1000 difference in price.
So, if they are at $800 over invoice, they are going to have to discount the car about $2200. Sounds like you need to find a car with a lower price to begin with, if you are looking for a payment that is $50 less per month than you are being offered now at $800 over invoice.

a month ago i leased a 2.7t w/ premium package, preferred lux package, cold package, bose, sunshades and rear airbags on the following terms:
48 months
12k miles/yr.
0 down (paid first month and tags)
no security deposit
$552/mo with sales tax (5.75%/month tax)
the money factor was somewhere around 3%. i don't know what their true final sell price was based upon these terms (there's a luxury tax thrown into the calcuation at some point), but my sense is that it was close to invoice.
i agree with april that you won't be able to do $50/month better, but in addition would question the need/desire to fight with the dealer to bring the sales price down by just a few hundred dollars more, especially if you're leasing. the net monthly difference will be less than $15 per month.
