My central readout seems to be about to go bye-bye
Blank horizontal lines are starting to appear.
This is a known problem, yes? And I assume repair is by replacement. Do they have to tear the hell out of the dash?

Remove cluster, not the whole dash really...
Although I'm not sure if the NeuA6 cluster requires a more complex disassembling than the C4 A6.
I assume your car is under warranty... otherwise I'd guess the gauge is $300-$500 for the part. Labor on that should be no more than 2 hours.
I've had my cluster out 3 times and no rattles or anything have come about... no evidence of it being touched.

The rattle business is what concerns me
My BMW was never the same after they had to replace the sunroof innards. Rattled like a Yugo for the rest of its days.
Oh well, I'll wait until I can't bear the display anymore. And yes to warranty.
