Default 3 months after my warranty expired and my gauge cluster has gone for the first time!

To say I'm pissed is an understatement!!! It's going to cost close to $900 to replace (including 2 hours of labour).

Sorry, had to vent!

Default 2 hours? How much for the part itself?

Last time I had a cluster replaced, I waited for it. Took the tech a total of 45 minutes. I also saw page-2 of the invoice (the one I don't get), it listed CDN$750 for the part. That's probably cost.

If it wasn't for setting the ODO, it would probably be easy to do yourself. I'm not sure if you can do that with VAG-COM.

Default I was talking to a service writer this morning about this very subject, he said Audi will usually

cover one cluster even if the car is off warrenty. Talk to your dealer.

Default If your dealer says no call Audi, this is a known issue and just off warranty means to me that they

...should cover it, if they say no email me and I will find out from my guy how they have handled it with Audi.

Default My dealer replaced my MAF a month or so after my warranty expired...

They admitted that it was a common problem, and I'd had them do a full diagnostic on the car right before the warranty ended and they didn't catch it then.

Since then I've bought an aftermarket extended warranty. I'll probably use it for the first time soon because my front suspension is squeaking.

http://www.warrantydirect.com</a
