Default I have 265/35 on 18" wheels
might try 285/30s next time around. seems to be enough space.

Default 255/40 is the widest recommended on an 8' wide rim
If you are going to go wider you really need to go to an 8.5 or 9" wide rim. Putting a tire that is too wide for the rim can actually make the car handle worse rather than better because the sidewall is not properly supported.

Default I plan on moving to 18's 8.5 just want to make sure 265..
or 285's will fit in the well and not rub on the turns
